Naughty Vegan Food Recipes!

Hey guys!

I am so excited for you to see my new Cheap Clean Eats video because it throws out all of the misconceptions people have about vegan food tasting funky. That is not the case at all. You can eat meatless and you can eat deliciously. I took some popular foods recipes and veganized them for you in creative ways. I want you to make at least 1 recipe from this video. Open your mind and open your taste buds to a whole new world of cooking!

POPCORN CHICK’N (or tofu nuggets)

Ingredients for 3 servings:

1 block extra firm tofu

1/3 c whole wheat flour

1/4 c nutritional yeast

1 TBSP mustard

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

1/2 c water

1 tsp chipotle seasoning

2 TBSP coconut oil

  1. Press tofu block with paper towels to get all the extra water out. You’ll want it to be dry so that the coating will stick. Let it sit with the paper towels while you make the batter.
  2. Mix all the above ingredients in a bowl minus the tofu obviously.
  3. Then pick off chunks of tofu and dip them in the batter.
  4. Put pan on medium heat with coconut oil.
  5. Lightly fry the tofu until crispy golden!

I’m a mommy of 3 little ones, and although they keep me on my toes 24/7, I often found myself burnt out, with major backaches/sciatic pain and low energy. After doing your simple daily workouts and making your clean-eat-info meals, I feel more energized and less achy then ever! Thank you so much for your inspiration. You have made such a huge difference in my health and daily well-being. This 44 yr old feels like 24 (still working on the looking 24 part…lol). I so happy that I found you. I just made your version of the Chicken Club Sandwich and it is soooo delicious!! I don’t miss the chicken at all! I’m making the popcorn chicken tonight for my family tonight!

I had the tofu nuggets and they were to die for!!!! Can’t wait to try the rest! Do these recipes do good if you make ahead of time and reheat (for the first two) if I bring them for lunch during the work week? BTW just got your book in the mail today and I’m so excited!! Love you, Cassey!!!

  • Anna-Kaisa

Love the sound of these recipes- cannot wait to try them!

I’m so happy that you are supportive and encouraging of vegan foods and diets :) I recently received a rather disturbing newsletter from Jillian Michaels where she basically discouraged veganism and it just made me feel icky about her.

I know you receive a lot of harsh criticism from vegans on social media from time to time and the fact that you remain supportive and positive is so encouraging. I am one proud popster vegan! :) <3

    • Anna-Kaisa

I feel a bit bad ‘tearing’ Jillian Michaels down as an example of your loveliness- that wasnt my intent. I just wanted to really express that I was happy to see this video especially in light of my past experiences this week. I’m sure she’s a wonderful person too and didn’t intend to come off so negative in that newsletter.
