*Deep Breath* I’m doing it again.

Hey POPsters!

How are you? Are you enjoying #OMGOctober? Make sure to print your calendar and your fitness journal if you haven’t already!

I’ve been debating this “thing” for a while now. Like seriously, I’ve been having chats in my head like a crazy person. But sometimes when you get too caught up in the details you just gotta STOP. Turn around. Then on the count of 3 jump forward, spin yourself around, and go with your gut!

You know what I mean?

So guys. On twitter and FB I announced that I was going to trek a similar journey very soon and a good amount of you actually guessed what it was! Reina got it right on the dot!

Yup. That’s right. I’m doing another Bikini Comp.

I can’t believe I am saying that but after much self-debate, I wanted to challenge myself physically and mentally again and do it for my birthday which is on Jan 16th. It’s not as SCARY as it was the first time I made the decision, but it is still pretty darn scary! But I am sooooo happy and excited. Truly I am, and am glad I will be documenting the whole transformation on the blog for you to see.

Here are some pics from last time:

You can see more pics from my May 2012 Contra Costa NPC competition here.

I really cannot wait to take my fitness up to a new level. Because this will be my 2nd one, I already have built muscle over time from weight lifting so my physique will be perhaps even more toned. Plus this time I am giving myself an extra 4 weeks or so to prepare so I won’t feel rushed. I wanna be able to just walk into the comp feeling ready instead of upping my cardio like crazy at the end. That was pretty stressful last time.

I already have my heels and jewelry so that won’t be a prob. I’m very excited to shop for a new bikini. I think that is the funnest part! (I know “funnest” is not a real word, but Steve Jobs did use it to describe the iPod as documented by GrammarGirl.) That’ll probably happen after Thanksgiving and into the first weeks of December. I wonder what look I should go for this time. What do you guys think? Should I do something cute like hot pink? Or do you like the prints? I am also thinking I might do for some underwire this time to help with the “oomph”. I wanna put sequined appliques on my own bikini like I did last time. Oh I am getting so excited!! Swarovski crystals galore!!!

As weird as this sounds, I am doing the comp as a present to myself. It’s almost like a hobby/leisure thing that sometimes makes no sense financially but I like the pageantry of it and dressing up. I gotta work on my model walk this time too. I know I need wayyyyy more pizaazzzz. I wasn’t able to capture footage for you guys last time, but I will for sure this time around. I am not looking to win a crown, a title, or a trophy, I really just wanna work as hard as I can and see what happens! Seriously, it’s quite subjective, so what can you do? You just do your best because that is all you have control over! You do your best and you CHOOSE how you want to react to the results and the environment. I choose to make the whole experience positive and rewarding no matter the outcome. This is my thinking going into the 15 week process.

It’s going to be pretty tough I will admit though. Who the heck goes on a bikini comp diet through the holidays? Only crazies. Like me. LOL. I’ll still have Thanksgiving dinner and Xmas dinner, no worries – just clean style! Which is still yummy style when done Blogilates style. OMG I suddenly have an urge to do Gangnam Style.

Hold on lemme turn on Spotify.

Ok, there, I feel good now :) This will now prevent me from getting the song-stuck-in-your-head disease.

But you know what? If you wanna go on a bikini comp diet with me for the next 15 weeks, feel free! At least you’ll know we’re doing it together. In fact, if you wanna do the diet and train and meet me at the comp in LA in Jan, heck, do it!!! We can be like workout buddies from afar!!!!

I’ll do my best to post what I am eating so you get a feel for it all. The best place to follow me for that is on Instagram. My username is Blogilates on there. If you want quick updates on how my training is going and how I feel up to the minute, that’s my twitter, same username.

So yea, tell me what you think about this! Are you excited or do you think I am nuts?

Hope you’re having a wonderful day and I’ll see you guys for a new video on Thursday! I’m filming and editing all day tomorrow to make sure it’s on time!!!

<3 you,

PS: I totally forgot, today we got into FORBES!!!! GO POPsters!!! WHOOO!!! Read the article here. Thanks for being a part of this amazing Community. Y’all make my world go round.

You go on an do what makes you happy ; if we only have one Life, we should live it fully, because at most, we will only live to be 100….and most of us will be checked out mentally by 85 =D

  • You’re so inspiring and pretty! GOOOD I want a body like yours :)

I have some questions about you wanting to do the bikini competition. I assume that by putting your life in public you’re ok with us asking questions and giving opinions. So, none of this is meant to make you feel bad… I love you and you have help and inspired me so much. Before I ask my question I’m gonna explain what I see… it’s just opinions and not meant to be malicious. I support you and respect your choices even if I don’t agree with them and I don’t want to hurt your feelings… I am just trying to understand. You are awesome! But when I look at the pics of the other women (I looked through a couple women’s fitness magazines last night), they don’t look AT ALL pretty or attractive. To me, they look like 60 year old anorexic women or men trying to look like women. They all look much older than their age and way too skinny. You can tell the difference between someone whose ribcage shows because they are naturally thin and someone who is starving/overworking their body, trust me, this comes from someone with a history of anorexia (me). You’re too pretty to ruin your body like that. So, I guess my question is, why does challenging yourself have to come in the form of seeing how far you can restrict your diet and how much you can work your body into nonexistence? Women in bikinis look better with curves or their natural thinness, not artificial diet restricted starvation thinness (you can tell the difference). Why can’t challenging yourself be through something like a triathlon, crossfit (although some of those even take it too far) or running marathons/races for charity instead of abusing your body. I don’t understand why challenging yourself and growing in fitness always seems to equate to losing your femininity. These women are terrible roll models in my opinion and I will never believe these women are healthy. It is not healthy to restrict your diet and overwork your body to the point that you lose your breasts and period. This is your body telling you something is wrong. And with the fake tans and fake boobs, it just seems so… fake. So I guess I just wonder about your choice of this path to “challenge youself” when there are much healthier ones that make a better role model and could even help charity. Why not choose one of those?

Your retarded leave Casey the hell alone. What she’s doing is something you probably couldn’t accomplish ever. She’s not doing anything harmful or bad to herself or her body at all. In short, she’s eating super healthy, exercising a lot, and having a blast. Its good to push yourself and reach goals that you never thought were possible before, in fact, if more people did what she is doing then the obesity level would shoot way down. And as for fake tits and tanning, which you are clearly against, way don’t you take your one sided opinions out of your ass and think for a minute about why people do that in the first place. Like shrinking after having kids, one being much larger than the other, having very saggy ones, or maybe just being insecure about them in general, there are many reasons why women decide to change themselves and they don’t need people like you judging every decision they make. And if your so into charity and doing for others why don’t you get off your ass, stop writing hate mail to other amazing people and go do something good. Cassey has already gave so much and been so inspirational to so many people, her line of work is to help people achieve their goals. Keep your negative opinions to herself unless someone asks you for them and go rain on somebody else’s parade.

Wow – calm down. T was just asking a few questions…no reason for you to get up on your soap box. I think the questions were valid, and since Cassie posts her life on the web, I think it’s OK for people to comment. T wasn’t being rude or malicious, but rather sharing an opinion. You, on the other hand, were super rude and almost spiteful. Relax.

  • Congrats on making this decision!!! I did my first one last month and am not sure if ill do it again or not. I haven’t decided yet. I can’t wait to follow your journey to the stage :)

  • That’s awesome! It’s an awesome goal to work on, especially over the holidays! I look forward to following along as best as I can and wish you the best of luck! :]

  • I’m actually going to be competing in April! I just might follow along with everything that you post for the extra drive to get myself ready as well =D I can’t wait to see your post!

  • Laura

A bikini comp based workout and nutrition plan would be amazing! I’ve been looking at some online but I much prefer this site and doing your workouts, I feel like I’m intimidated by the’s of the internet!
You should turn it into a plan like when you did the 90 day one and we can all keep in touch on fb twitter and tumblr!
    I’m all excited eek!

  • Marby

You actually are the one who inspired me to do my first bikini comp. It’s on November 3rd in Kentucky and I have been training my butt off for it! I feel great and look so much better. Thank you for inspiring me!

  • Wish I could do this with you. It’s going to take you 15 weeks, how long will it going to take us regular folks? You already have an amazing body. Will be cheering you on!

  • Ariel

Aww Cassey you’re beautiful and you inspire me so much :) thank you!!

  • Jackie

Buena suerte Casey!!!!! I hope you win because you’re a winner! Your enthusiasm and love of the challenge makes you a warrior! Thanks for always setting the bar and pushing it higher :D….you are awesome always.

  • Hello Cassey, I’m from Uruguay (LatinAmerica); is about a month that I follow and practice your bikini blaster videos and the results is so amazing that I become addicted to them ( no mention that my body is completely dead , but it feels and looks so good )
You are so cute and funny, i totally love how you look so feminine and strong at the seam time, is crazy!
thank you so much for sharing your work with us, I’m on the other side of america so I appreciate it a lot !!!

  • Brandi

I would love love love to do this with you!! Please post meals and workouts…I could definitely use some pointers with the holidays coming soon!

  • jamie

you looked that fantastic and you didn’t win?

  • Asha

Hi Cassey! I’m so excited to see your journey for this bikini comp!
Yes, please post your meals and workouts so we can do it with you :)
I’m trying to start eating clean, but it’s hard when I get hungry and have absolutely no idea what to eat (so I end up eating PB&J…). Knowing what you’re eating would make it soooo much easier. Plus, it’ll be interesting to see exactly what it takes to be in a bikini competition!

  • Kelsey

Congratulations on being in Forbes, Cassey! I think it’s awesome that you’re doing another bikini comp, post your diet so I can do it with you!! So many people have said this already, but GOOD LUCK!!

  • Sarah

Congrats on the decision Cassey! I think it is awesome and amazing that you are able to afford the time to compete, and please post your meals, etc. I will work hard to follow you as I am constantly working on eating clean. I am running my second marathon next weekend and do not have plans yet to compete in something til next spring, so you will be a motivation for me to not put on those extra pounds during the holidays! I actually plan to go through Jamie Eason’s 12 Week Live Fit trainer again after the marathon. Good luck!

  • Hey Cassey I’ll be cheering you on all the way I think ur mad (but in a brilliant way ;-) I’d love to see your meal plans and lurrrrvvvveeeeee to see your workout schedule so I can do it alongside you ! Good luck and keep doin what u do! Thanx

  • Ryanne

That is so awesome Cassey!!! I was worried about how not to fall into the winter/holiday food coma/gain 15 pounds scenario, and this way I can follow you along your journey and keep challenged. I LOVE it! I would really like it if you posted some healthy recipes or meal plans. Even though I wouldn’t follow them completely since I’m not trying to get Bikini Comp ready or anything, it would be nice to have some super clean recipe days/meals to alternate with all the Holiday junk food :) You are my fitness hero! XO

  • Lee

So I had a kind of crazy thought today on my way to work…..what if you posted as much of your workouts and meal plans as is do able without driving yourself mad and WE, your band of merry loyal friends ,did it with you.
And say at the end of it we sent in OUR before and after bikini comp photos and you can pick one to be named “biggest transformation”….or whatever…. but really we would all be winners =)
    I think this is something I could….try =)
Thoughts?!??! Anyone else in or am I nuts?

  • Laura

Oh my goodness! Tell you what I’ll do it with you the best I can! I won’t be doing any bikini comp but maybe I can make a mini one in my room. You are very inspiring and I know this will go well for you, doll! Xoxo

  • Emma

You are inspirational in your comittment Cassey, you really are! And this was exactly what I needed to read today. Please could you post some example meals from your meal plan?

    A long time fan xxxxxx

  • YAAAAY!!!!!!! You will be amazing, Cassey!!!

  • Natalie

Oh, Cassey! I would never guessed myself about your competition . It will be soooooo great!! And also I wanted your amazin’ pictures as you did it last time. Btw The Forbes article was inspiring! I’m looking forward to hear from you again! Oh, crazy (:

  • Elizabeth

Cassey, you are a very important part of my inspiration to be fit
And be better… You are awesome and a little bit crazy lol but that’s good
Go ahead girl you have a good body you’ll gonna rock!!!!!

  • J

Just my $0.02. Cassey, I urge you not to post your meals plan nor your workout rouitne for this fitness comp. As you said from your last competition before, the amount of “real-food” you had and the workouts were unrealistic and were NOT mean for long term. I am afraid if you did post your meals plan and your workout, they would trigger EDs related problems for readers. Please re-consider.

    • Juliana

I think that the triggering is up to the people to not come on websites that might trigger them. i have had co-morbid eds and am recovering for about a year now and i dont find that that would trigger me, and i know that if it did then i would have step back and no follow what she is eating. but hey i totally get where your coming from tho!!

      • J

Yes, it is totally up to the person who comes to this website. What I really wanted to say is that not all readers/viewers are knowledgable enough to identify a normal workout & diet vs. what it takes to prep for a fitness comp., and that would be the hours spend on training, a very restrictive diet that is meant for just ONE competition in oppose to something someone could do on a regular basis.

  • gaby

Congrats, Cassey! What a great decision. So inspiring that you are doing it for yourself and that the ultimate goal is not to place but to challenge yourself and enjoy the crazy ride! We are all right there behind ya, can’t wait to see your incredible progress. Thank you for being so positive and motivating, we need more people like that in this world!

  • Marqi

Cassey! You are totally crazy to be training over the holidays. But that’s what makes it cool. Rock it out Pilates sister.

  • Yal

Cassey, congrats on the Forbes article! It is a great step for you as well as for women out there who are doing what they love using YouTube.
About the bikiny competition….DO IT! You have the sassiness and the motivation.
Also, please post meal plans and/or workouts so those interested (ME) can do it with you!!
    Good Luck!
