Rolling my ankles
Run Cassey Run
I don’t remember the last time I was so unproductive and loved every second of it.
Actually, wait, I do.
That was when I was so addicted to facebook back in college that I’d just spend hours and hours looking at people’s pictures and coming up with witty titles and captions for my albums.
Anyway, just in the past 2 days, I think I found a new hobby. Like something that just brings me pure personal and obsessive joy without much benefit to anyone else: cinemagraphs! It’s basically a GIF but only a portion of the picture is animated.
What!? Yeah. When I told my mom of this marvelous revelation as we were strolling around the Stanford Shopping Center today, she raised her eyebrows and contorted her face exclaiming, “Are you kidding? That’s not relaxing! That’s still work!!”
Actually…it’s not work at all. I find it more like art and art relaxes me and brings me to a different world.
I find myself looking at objects now and wondering, how can I make that an impactful cinemagraph that makes you cock your head sideways and go “Hmm. Interesting.” I find myself browsing websites for great cinemagraphs and studying them to see what makes them so intriguing. I am now trying to come up with a formula that will help me create a successful cinemagraph each time. This is something I am not good at and I find so much joy in creating these amateur motion graphics, learning from them, and doing more research to make it better. All for what? Clearly no one really cares about those random tomatoes I posted yesterday, (but if you do, you can follow me on cinemagram, it’s an app you can download and my username is blogilates) so I just do it because I like it.
What are your hobbies? What do you like to do for fun that has nothing to do with anything just cuz it makes you super happy? I’d love to hear!
Also, today has been quite wonderful! I was surprised by a long time POPster who took my Bootcamp and Pilates classes at CRUNCH this morning! I first noticed her because she had my mint Nike Frees. Then it wasn’t after class that she told me she had been following me since she was a freshman in college and now she’s graduated! It was so cool to talk to Tiffany and learn more about how she’s trying to be healthy and how the vids have helped her.
I really love meeting you guys and I like talking too so beware, I’ll ask you as many questions as you ask me!!!
I am currently at the Apple Store trying to get my new iPhone 5 fixed. I am so sad. I have not had a phone that could actually make calls for 3 days now. I am one of the unlucky ones that got a defected phone! Yeah, and that’s what I get for pre-ordering early!
And one more thing!!!
Look at this:
Yup. The Blogilates app is in the works for reals! Last night I met up with my developer and we were drawing out every single screen that the app was gonna have. It was actually pretty fun. Late Saturday nights at the local coffee shop just chugging away. I am so excited for this to happen. There’s so much I didn’t know about that had to go into making an app. This is such a cool learning experience and I am fortunate to have found someone who has the same passion and vision for this project as I do! That’s why I have been so hesitant to make an app for a while. It’s almost like finding a father for your baby.
Yup so that was my weekend in a nutshell!! I am off to LA tomorrow to get ready for the Livestrongwoman shoot. I will also announce the twitter winner very soon. So make sure you’re subbed to Blogilates, BlogilatesTV, and Livestrongwoman on YouTube and you’re on the newsletter. May the odds be evah in your favor! ;)
<3 you so much! Bye guys!
PS – Oh and get ready for an awesome new workout on Monday based on the overwhelming song suggestions I got on the Call Me Gangnam workout.
