So I was fooling around in my kitchen the other day and actually made something quite divine. I was able to figure out a way to make pizza with all Blogilates-approved ingredients. That’s right. There was no mozzarella cheese, no oil, no bread. It was low cal, low carb, and highly nutritious. “What!?” you say?

That’s right.

It was totally LEGIT.


– 1/4 cup dry oats

– 1 TBS ground flax seed

– 1 egg


– 4 TBS marinara or spaghetti sauce

– 1/2 cup nonfat/lowfat cottage cheese

– sprinkles of frozen spinach

– 1/2 cup chopped tomato

– several pieces of jalapeno

any other veggie or lean protein you want to add – mushrooms, onions, olives and chicken breast are all great choices


1. In a tin pan, mix up the oats, egg, and flax seed until it covers the bottom of a tin pan. I used a pie tin pan. No oil required! Place in oven at 350F for about 15-20 min until firm.

2. In the mean time, microwave the frozen spinach. Once thawed, pour out excess water and pat dry with paper towel.

3. Also, squeeze the cottage cheese curds with a cheese cloth or a few layers of paper towel. You want to get all of the water out so that it doesn’t make you pizza soggified.

4. Chop your desired veggies.

5. Once crust is firm, take the crust out of the oven. Slather with tomato sauce.

6. Then pile on the cottage cheese and veggies!

7. Place back in oven for about 15-20 min keeping temp at 350F. You can do 375F if you like your crust crispy.

8. Once your ticker dings, take out, slice and enjoy. YOU CAN DEFINITELY EAT THE WHOLE THING :)

About 300 calories for you own whole pizza pie…nearly 30g of protein and 8g of fiber. WOW is right. You need to try this! It’s one of my best creations to date!!!

    I make this one a lot I always oil the pan with flax seed oil so it doesnt’t stick and use one cup of oats and 2 eggs so its a bit bigger
    I usally cover with some home made tomato sause, zuchini, tomatoes or other veggies and ad skinny mozzarella on top
    it tastes delicous I also add some salt pepper and special pizza spices and it tastes delicious I make it almost every week

It tastes absolutely amazing, and you honestly don’t feel like you’re eating healthy!       I made it omitting the flax seeds and it turned out just fine. :) Just be sure to make it on parchment paper or something similar, because otherwise it will stick to the pan.

    I didn’t use a pan for the crust, but i put it on baking paper. And it didn’t stick at all! :D

    Heyyy I’ve tried your other recipes and they’ve all been fantastic. I’m totally down for trying this one, I wanted to do the cauliflower pizza but unfortunately I don’t have a food processor. Anyways I was wondering if it would ruin the pizza if I didn’t put any cheese? Would all the toppings fall off? Because I gained a dairy allergy so I’m unable to eat cheese. Thanks in advance.

      You can use a blender or just chop up the cauliflower to bits as best as you can still works great!!

    This is a good base idea for a recipe but doesn’t work well as it is. You DEFINITELY NEED TO OIL YOUR PAN. The size of this recipe made about a 4 inch pizza: not even half of the pan. I doubled the recipe and it still barely covered the bottom of the pan. I don’t know if Cassey did something different for the pizza in the picture, but 1/4 cup of dough does not make a pizza as big as a pie pan.

    Also, it’s a really bad idea to use a metal fork to mix the ingredients in the pan unless you want to scratch off the nonstick surface. Just mix your ingredients in a bowl.

    LOooooove it! substituted lots of toppings. i put red onions, fresh spinach, red peppers, and a few spices and it was fabulous!!!! next time i will use non stick spray so i dont have to eat it out of the pan lol

      I quadruple it every time I make it, and I can eat the whole thing xD but I don’t recommend that at all. I think for people who eat like normal humans quadrupling it would be fine. :)

    Ok so I just tasted this pizza worst decision of my life! I was about to exercise but, I tasted this pizza and it was sooo good!!! All I want to do is eat lol. I guess I can exercise later. It doesn’t taste like pizza but it is AM-A-A-ZINGGGHHH! I did use regular shredded cheese though oops :)

    Yum! Even my husband loved it and he’s very suspicious of healthy food. I put some chermoula spice mix in the base and topped it with cherry tomatoes, red pepper and mushrooms (roast in the same oven as the base with no oil for 20 minutes), cottage cheese and more chermoula. My husband loved the base so much he asked me to make lots more of it without any topping to use like bread.

    Wow, only 322 calories for the whole thing? You can get that much for a slice of pizza from one of these pizza shops and one slice will never do. I’mma try this one for sure!

    When I first saw this I didn’t believe that the crust would taste good but omg it did! I put feta, artichoke, tomato, spinach and bell pepper for the toppings. It was SO GOOD! I used psyllium seed husk instead of flax seed and it still turned out fine. I’m definitely making this again soon. Thank you!

    OMG!!! just made this…awesome…I used a combo of low fat feta and parmesan…piled on the fresh veggies (spinach, tomato, bell and jalapeno peppers, portabellas, and onion)…hard to believe it’s good for you!!! Always looking for great healthy recipes to try out…I’ve gone over to ‘clean eating’, and have so far lost 100 lbs (about 40 more to go!)….just found your blog today…all I can say is WOW!!!

      Well Ive been wanting to try out your recipes but was avoiding them because
      I was afraid they would lack flavor. This recipe turnEd out surprisingly pretty tasty!
      Now the crust was wayyyyy to small for serving two people so I doubled it.
      My crust didn’t turn out so crispy but I didn’t have it in the oven the full twenty mins
      Cus I was hungry!!! So anyways, for my toppings I used zucchini and eggplant with chopped garlic
      And some fresh basil leaves. (btw use parchment paper for the crust! :p…)
      I also added two very small chicken breasts pan seared with Rosemary, salt and pepper.
      I also used low fat cottage cheese. Honestly u won’t need much sauce…it made my crust a little soggy.
      But other than that it was very tasty for an “unprocessed” meal! I will definitely make it again!!

    I will be trying this but with home made basil and spinach pesto as the sauce and topped with pumpkin, egg plant, baby spinach, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and low fat fetta as the toppings :)

    I just made this, it is so tasty (I love it!)…I added fresh basil to the veggies and to the crust I added ground oregano before I placing in into the oven for the first time…I added a bit more to the veggies, because for me that’s what gives pizza that special flavor :)

    To prevent the crust from sticking in the pan, I used waxed paper, it really works and you don’t have to use any oil…

    if you use glass – you definitely will need oil! could not get mine out of our glass and ceramic pie pans without crumbling. i had a feeling that would happen but followed the “you won’t need oil!” or whatever direction :) but my 3 yr old loved helping making it and still said it was super yummy! and much easier than our whole wheat pizza crust that we normally make that takes 3+ hours

    I just made this tonight. I knew I would be okay with it since I’m very open to all types of food, even the super healthy, but wasn’t sure my picky meat and potato or two-year-old would like this. I quadrupled the recipe to make sure there was enough and added a little extra oat because it seemed super runny, so my measurements were 1 1/2 C rolled old-fashioned oats, 4T Flaxmeal, and 3 eggs + 1 egg white. It made enough to very thinly cover 3/4 of a jellyroll pan. I did use some spray olive oil to grease the pan but it still stuck like crazy and was really difficult to clean after, so I think I might invest in some parchment paper for next time.

    Long story short, I did add a little (very little) provolone and goat cheese along with a load of fresh veggies and it was really pretty good. Definitely did not taste just like pizza, but tasted enough like pizza and enough like something new and interesting that I’d make it again. I have about 20 pounds that I need to lose so I’m always on the lookout for fun, healthful recipes and the low-fat, low-carb, high fiber of this recipe really appealed. Thanks for the creativity!

  • OMG this is sooooo AMAZING! hahaha it tastes too good to be this healthy! I gotta say I was kinda skeptical, but it tastes just like pizza! The only thing is it was REALLY hard to get out of the pan, I think I’ll spray it with Pam next time
