BACKGROUND:
Hello! My name is Cassey Ho and I am a Pilates and fitness instructor, a lover of all things healthy, and the designer of oGorgeous Yoga bags and Gym Bags. My hometowns are Los Angeles and San Francisco. I just recently moved from Boston and am now back in the beautiful Bay Area.
I graduated with an honors degree in Biology from Whittier College in 2009 but decided not to pursue my parent’s predestined path for me in medicine. While in school, I started teaching Pilates as a sophomore at a small studio down the street from our campus. Right then and there, instructing became one of the most satisfying parts of my life. (I am certified by NESTA and Balanced Body University for mat and reformer.) Since then I’ve worked at numerous gyms including Equinox and Crunch.
Senior year, I launched oGorgeous when I couldn’t find a yoga bag that was stylish enough or big enough to fit my mat and gym things in. My first design was the Beverly Bowtie yoga bag, complete with tons of pockets, satin lining, gold chain straps, and a glam bow of course. Super girly, it attracted the attention of my students. Orders started to roll in and the next set of designs were drawn.
After working a bit in corporate America for a fashion retail company in buying, I realized that my passion for design and entrepreneurship could no longer be a “side thing”. It was around this time too that my media dream came true…the Pleated Pocket Sparkle yoga bag was featured in SHAPE Magazine and on the Wendy Williams Show!
I remember running to Target after getting a text from my sister saying that her friend thought she saw my bag in the magazine. I can see myself so clearly right now flipping madly through SHAPE. My heart pounding. My fingers shaking. Was it true? When I saw the picture, I melted onto the linoleum floor and cried. It was an amazing feeling.
So I quit my job.
POP Pilates, YOUTUBE & BLOGGING
My first POP Pilates video was made after I graduated college and before I moved out to the East Coast…it was more of a farewell thing for my Pilates students in CA. I didn’t make very many videos back when I was working because I didn’t have time. But after I quit, I started YouTubing and blogging religiously for whatever reason.

I never expected my blog or videos to be helpful to anyone really. So thank you for continually motivating me to be a better instructor and healthy living writer. I was just recently named the Best Healthy Living Blogger of 2012 by FITNESS Magazine and am the #2 most influential online personality by Sharecare…only second to Jillian Michaels.
Anyway my life consists of lots of working out, eating clean, teaching fitness classes, designing, filming, editing, picture-taking, and producing.

I simply love your website and workouts. I started a few days ago and can still not finish one workout, but I am so encouraged that I will continue. I am super unfit, actually if you look up the word unfit in the dictionary you will most probably find a picture of me :-) So my focus is not only weight loss and toning and so on, but really discipline and control. I believe your workouts can help take control of my body even it is by gently forcing it into positions that I never thought possible.
You are amazing – thank you for the motivating videos/workouts – I’m a runner looking to really get toned and these make me feel great! Hopefully I can just stick with it and see some results soon! Thank you so much for all you do : ) -MK
heyy cassey if you like have a broken arm or leg or something but you want to continue working out what could you do? i know like its definetly not going to be like an extreme workout and all but even if its a slight workout i dont want to stop completely!

I seriously stumbled across your blogilates site after looking at some tumblrs. I decided to check it out….AND I AM HOOKED! I’ve been doing AT LEAST one of your videos everyday for the past three weeks and I am already seeing changes in my body. I am so happy. Pilates is so much fun, and you make it really accessible to everyone. I feel like you’re really in the room with me, pushing me to work harder! I love it. Best of luck to you, you are amazing!

I’ve been doing your workout videos for about two or so months now and I feel great! But what I wanted to ask you is if you have any apps in the making? I think it would be such a great idea to have a little app with all the videos on it and a daily message from you or little things like that! hi cassie! i love your videos they are super fun and super challenging! I am like 85 pounds and im 5′ 0 so i am very petite. i swim in the fall from august to november. now that im in my off season i have been doing your blogilates vdeos. my goal right now is to get a nice flat tight lean stomach. i naturally have a very fast metabolism was wondering what foods i should eat to achieve my goals. As well i have been doing your excersizes for a few weeks now . everyday i have been doing Good time abs challenge, brokenhearted abs challenge, abs all night challenge, pop Pilates ab challenge and also the victoria secret model ab workout yet i havent been seeing much results and i know for a facim doing them right because i can feel my abs burning when i do them. Can you help?
how should we alternate the muscles we work?
ex). is it OK to do abs 2 days in a row, even if we are still sore from day 1? or does it have something to do w. muscle recovery?

Love your website, and love your “pop-pilates” workouts(: I would really love if you could answer to this : I’m 12 years old, and I was wondering if there is anything I should watch out for food wise, like, for my age? I’m obviously not going to follow the 90-day diets and all because I’m pretty sure that could cause harm to me and my growing. But I was just wondering if you have any tips for healthy eating,for a younger audience maybe?(:

Hey Anna! I’m also a bit too young to crazily diet (I’m 13, 14 in two months). It’s super easy to eat healthy. Basic rules: 1.) Avoid junk food as much as you can! Although, it’s okay to have a bit in moderation. 2.) Try to eat as much whole grains as you can. Whole wheat bread, whole grain pasta, the like. 3.) Lots of water, especially if you’re active and/or live in a warm climate! 4.) Fruits and veggies! They can also help to keep you hydrated. 5.) Try not to eat added sugar or salt. Just avoid putting extra salt or sugar in foods (potatoes, hot chocolate/coffee, etc.) It’s super easy to eat clean early on. Hope I helped! PS. I am not a nutritionist; I don’t know everything. (:

Hey Cassey, i have been following u for sometime and have now finally can get through a whole workout video :D. U have really inspired me, and i wanted to thank you, i want to thank you for helping me, when i was 6 years old i have a very big operation (im now 16) on one of my kidneys and every sense then my lower abs have been very very week i could barley do a sit-up, i challenge my self to do your videos for a month and try to loss weight so its been a week and i’m a little bit stronger and have lost a little more weight, and i just recently discovered that my lower abs and improved immensely. So i just wanted to stay thanks for all your help this has been life changing.

So I am trying to figure out something. How can I eat small 5 meal when i work fully day. When I come home i have dinner. I live with my parent. So suer I still eat Pre even after my dinner and sure i eat my post after my work out? Also your videos are amazing!

I have been a great fan of your workout videos ever since i first lay my eyes on them. I always had the zeal to complete your workouts and have fun. But the lastfew days suddenly turned to hell for me. I lost a neighbour of mine, we had known each other since childhood.It was all so sudden and horrid.Now I just want to get back to normalcy because the gloom is eating me from inside. I no longer like doing anything,having fun,listening to music, doing your workouts,i just want thinks to become ok again.:(

Just discovered the wonderful world of printables! I don’t own a printer but can do them from my laptop! I’m so excited because I am not able to watch videos all the time with my internet package and trying to do workouts from memory usually results in weaker performances, so this will be very helpful!
